Flood mitigation efforts continue late into the night, sometimes beyond 3am. The volunteers and sewadars work tirelessly for over 15 hours at a stretch with few breaks in between. They understand what's at stake for the affected villagers and want to do all they can to help.

The head of Sampardai Kar Sewa Sant Baba Tara Singh (Sarhali Sahib), Baba Sukha Singh ji, and his team have been on the ground each and every day since the start of the floods that have devastated crops and damaged property. The efforts are focused on building water barriers (see photo below), and distributing rations and cooked food to villagers who are stranded.
